A method for the intravelar veloplasty comprises tailoring exterior and interior mucous-periosteal and mucous-muscular flaps of hard and soft palate, the separation of the vascular-nervous fascicles, and the dissection of the levator and tensor muscles of the palate. Upon tailoring the flaps, the mucous-periosteal flap of the soft palate is cut on the side of the nasal cavity together with the attached levator and tensor muscles of the palate towards the base of the alveolar arch and hamulus pterigoideus. |
