The spongy layer covers the inflatable balloon from the outside. The inflatable balloon covers the intubation tube along its full length. The washing tube locates between the spongy layer and the inflatable balloon. The proximal ends of the air-duct and the washing tube extend outside through the opening in the spongy layer.
