A chat system for achieving healthy communication among users. A chat device, a control method of a chat server, and an information storage medium are also provided. A message transfer section (11a) transfers a message to a destination game terminal upon reception of the message, and a stop limit section (11e) transmits a direction for limiting chat function stop processing to a source game terminal. A stop limit time calculating section (11b) calculates a stop limit time (T) depending on the number of characters of the message, and a timer section (11d) actuates a timer to measure an elapsed time (E). When the elapsed time (E) reaches or exceeds the stop limit time (T), the stop limit section (11e) transmits a direction for releasing the limiting of chat function stop processing to the source game terminal. An advanced time calculating section (11c) calculates an advanced stop limit time (T-t) upon receiving the message to the game terminal before the elapsed time (E) reaches or exceeds the stop limit time (T). |
