#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves cooling a mixture of hydrogen, carbon monoxide and methane in a main exchanger (3). A part of the mixture is transferred into a liquid carbon monoxide washing column (5). Vapor (7) e.g. hydrogen and carbon monoxide mixture, in a head of the column is removed. Liquid (11) is transferred from a tank to a carbon monoxide/methane separation column (33) after purification. Carbon monoxide rich liquid (47) at a head of the separation column is drawn and pressurized. A part of the liquid in head of the washing column is transferred.
