The transmission has coaxial type variable speed gears (4, 4') coupled in parallel for attacking drive wheels (11, 11') by causing a continuous variation of overall transmission ratio and a permanent adaptation of transmission ratios of the speed gears with rotational speed of the corresponding wheels. The transmission ratios of the gears are adapted in permanence such that average of the transmission ratios corresponds to the overall transmission ratio and a quotient of the transmission ratios corresponds to a ratio to be introduced between the rotational speeds of the wheels.
