A cam-shaft torsional vibration measuring apparatus can maintain the precise measurement performance without maintenance and repair by preventing the sensing unit from being contaminated or transformed by the lubricating oil. A cam-shaft torsional vibration measuring apparatus comprises a band(10) and a proximity sensor(20). The band with holes(10a) at regular intervals is wound on the cam-shaft. The proximity sensor is arranged near the band and detects pulse signal from the holes rotating along with the cam-shaft. The band is made of metal material, and the proximity sensor is selected among sensors of magnetic or eddy current type.
