<p>The invention aims at providing heavy weight aggregates having particle sizes and densities suitable to the fine aggregate for heavy concrete or heavy mortar at a low cost and provides a heavy weight aggregate comprising as the main constituent at least one of FeO, Fe2O3 and metallic iron which is characterized in that spherical particles account for at least 20% of the whole of the particles and that particles passing through a screen having a nominal size of 0.15mm account for 10 to 20% by mass of the whole of the particles and a heavy weight aggregate as described above, characterized by being obtained by mixing two or more members selected from among mill scale generated in the steel making process in rolling, coarse particles separated from steel-making converter dust by screening as the oversize having particle sizes of 50mum or above, and particulate pig iron separated from granulated blast furnace slag.</p> |
