PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin for an electrostatic charge image developing toner composed of a polyester resin having a satisfactory image quality characteristic and fixing characteristic without increasing a tremendous environmental load and a method for manufacturing the same, and to provide an electrostatic charge image developing toner using the resin for the electrostatic charge image developing toner and a method for manufacturing the same and further, to provide an image forming method and image forming apparatus using the electrostatic charge image developing toner or the electrostatic charge image developer. SOLUTION: The resin for the electrostatic charge image developing toner is characterized in that the resin contains a graft polymer, the main chain of the graft polymer has a polyester structure and the side chain has a monomer unit derived from a vinyl monomer and at least a part of the monomer unit has a surfactant residue.
