PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in characteristics of an electric motor and degradation in the performance of a compressor, by heat or penetration of welding affecting an electric motor stator, when the electric motor is housed and fixed to the hermetic electric compressor. SOLUTION: A through-hole 14 is formed to a barrel shell 6 fixing the stator 2 to a pressure vessel, and a pin 13 is pressed into a radial hole 18 formed to a fixed core 12 via the through-hole 14. Only the barrel shell 6 and the pin 13 are joined and integrated by the welding to seal between the through-hole and the pin. Since welding of the fixed core 12 in the welding is eliminated and deterioration of the fixed core 12 by welding heat is suppressed, the electric motor is surely and securely housed and fixed to the pressure vessel while preventing deterioration in efficiency caused by the welding of the electric motor.
