PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide vanity mirror devices for vehicle capable of providing ease of use for a driver, and to provide the control method for the vanity mirror devices. SOLUTION: Vanity mirror devices 1, 41, 61 for vehicle have a mirror 11, motors 26, 45 which advance and retreat a predetermined position of the mirror 11, a support guide 21a which supports and guides one edge side of the mirror 11 of which the predetermined position advances and retreats, and a hinge 23 in which one edge 25 side is rotatably supported by a shaft at a support guide 21a side and the other edge 24 side is rotatably-supported by a shaft at a position other than the one edge side of the mirror 11. According to advance and retraction of the predetermined position, the support guide 21a guides the one edge side of the mirror, and the hinge 23 moves on the position in an arc state different from the one edge side, thus raising/lowering the mirror 11 between a roughly horizontal housing position and a stand position in which the mirror surface faces a person who uses the mirror.
