PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle seat having a whiplash preventive mechanism, which reduces abnormal noise of the whiplash preventive mechanism in a normal seating condition. SOLUTION: When the load not less than a predetermined value is inputted from a backward side of a vehicle, a pressure receiving member 20 is moved backwardly by a waist of an occupant, a sub frame 8 is rocked around a rotary hinge 22, and a headrest 10 is moved forwardly to prevent any whiplash of the occupant. A rocking range regulating means for regulating the rocking range of the sub frame 8 with respect to a side frame 6 comprises: a guide hole 6b formed in the side frame 6; a bolt 26 fitted to the sub frame 8 freely inserted in the guide hole 6b; and a cylindrical shock-absorbing member 32 externally housed over the bolt 26.
