A structure of the gas passage itself of the carrier in which the exhaust gas passes is fundamentally differently comprised of the conventional thing. In order to show the performance exceeding the limit of the carrier structure of the honeycomb structure of forming into the thin plate. A carrier structure for the purification of exhaust gas comprises a band type subtance(8) consisting of the wire netting or the metal material non-woven with pipe-shaped or carrier is made of the pillar-shaped body which it is laminated; an exhaust air passage done with stack is formed into the other end side between band type subtance according to the groove(6) from one end direction of the pillar-shaped body; and the exhaust gas flowing the exhaust air passage flows is disturbed with the concavo-convex surface of band type substance.
