1276913 Treating fibres; bonded fibre products FELDMUHLE ANLAGEN UND PRODUKTIONS GmbH 25 Aug 1969 [24 Aug 1968] 42275/69 Headings D1F and D1R Fibre agglomerations are formed by subjecting loose, perhaps thermoplastic, fibres e.g. of lignocellulose or cellulose, to a whirling e.g. turbulent rotary, motion by means of a stream or streams of gas or vapour. The stream(s), adjustable for direction and velocity, may be produced by oppositely rotating, adjustably angled, stirring blades forming a whirling zone thereabove, Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown) or by compressed, perhaps pulsating, air jets, Fig. 3 (not shown). Moisture and/or heat, impregnants such as bitumen, moisture-repellants, flame-inhibitors, disinfectants, or binding agents such as phenolic and urea resins, polyvinyl chloride, polyacryl-latex, gypsum or cement may be applied before, during or after agglomeration. |
