<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio reproduction apparatus which is capable of outputting video and audio signals of a source device corresponding to the high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) standard to a sync device such as a TV via an HDMI output terminal even in a case where a status of an input selector just before a shift is not selecting an audio signal of the HDMI standard when an audio reproduction apparatus is powered off and shifted to a standby state, and is capable of recovering an input selector status being selected just before a shift to a power-off standby state, when recovering a powered-on state. <P>SOLUTION: Input selector information selected during powering-on is stored in a memory 104 and when an audio reproduction apparatus is shifted to a standby state and a device is any other than an HDMI correspondent device, video and audio signals of an HDMI correspondent device designated beforehand are output from an HDMI output terminal 118.
