<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method using a thermal transfer method which gives high yellow density even at the time of high speed printing and gives excellent image quality. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming method, an image is formed by superposing a thermal transfer sheet sequentially having a yellow thermal transfer layer, a magenta thermal transfer layer, a cyan thermal transfer layer, and a peelable thermal transferable protection layer on a support and a thermal transfer image receiving sheet having a dye receiving layer on the support. In this case, a binder included in the yellow thermal transfer layer is a polyvinylacetacetal, one type of the yellow dye is expressed by at least general formula (Y1), the line speed at the time of forming the image is 0.50 msec/line or more and 1.30 msec/line or less, wherein in the general formula (Y1), a ring A expresses a substituted or non-substituted benzene ring, R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>independently express a hydrogen atom, a substituted or non-substituted alkyl group, a substituted or non-substituted alkenyl group, or a substituted or non-substituted aryl group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
