PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tripod type stand unit that satisfies such convenience that the unit becomes usable by appropriately selecting to use the unit while always attaching the unit to an imaging apparatus such as a video camera or a sound apparatus such as an IC recorder, or to use the unit while attaching only as necessary, and also, that hardly gives the user such inconvenience that the unit is bulky for portable use. SOLUTION: The tripod type stand unit includes: a spring body 50; a movable body 20; three leg bodies 31, 32 and 33; a leg attitude regulating body 40; and a cover body 70. The movable body 20 and the leg attitude regulating body 40 are housed in a housing 10. The housing 10 is incorporated with a device or attached/detached to/from the device, as necessary. With the downward movement of the movable body 20, three leg bodies 31, 32 and 33 are opened by the work of hole parts 41, 42 and 43 of the leg attitude regulating body 40, and project to the lower part of the housing 10.
