<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LC medium, in particular, for the TFT type and an active matrix display like an OCB display, which does not have a disadvantages or only do so to a reduced extent, and preferably simultaneously has an extremely high specific resistance, a low threshold voltages, a low rotational viscosity, a broad nematic phase range with a high clearing point, an improved LTS, and a fast switching speed. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal medium is based on a mixture of polar compounds.
