PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably generate a write discharge with respect to a plasma display device and a driving method of a plasma display panel. SOLUTION: The plasma display device includes a plasma display panel; a scan electrode driving circuit which generates a falling waveform voltage gradually falling, in an initialization period and generates a first inclination waveform voltage gradually rising, in an initialization period of a least one sub-field of one field period and generates a second inclination waveform voltage which has a gradient sharper than that of the first inclination waveform voltage and falls immediately after a rising waveform voltage reaches a preliminarily determined prescribed potential, in the last of a sustain period; and a panel temperature detection circuit. The lowest voltage of the falling waveform voltage is switched among a first voltage, a second voltage having a voltage value higher than that of the first voltage, and a third voltage having a voltage value higher than that of the second voltage to generate the falling waveform voltage, and the lowest voltage is switched in accordance with a temperature detected by the panel temperature detection circuit to generate the falling waveform voltage.
