PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defect correction method and a manufacturing method of an alignment layer, which can contribute to yield improvement of a liquid crystal display panel, a manufacturing method of a liquid crystal display panel, a manufacturing method of a liquid crystal display device, and an alignment layer defect correction device. SOLUTION: The defect correction method for correcting defects of the alignment layer provided in the liquid crystal display panel includes a removing step of removing a part having a defect from the alignment layer so that edges of a removed part are placed in an area not contributing to display and an applying step of applying a correction material into the removed part of the alignment layer, which is formed in the removing step, in a range narrower than the removed part.
