PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoresis display and an electronic device which can be used in various configurations. SOLUTION: This display has a first and a second substrates facing each other, an electrophoresis substance layer provided between the first and the second substrates, pixel electrodes provided in predetermined areas on the first substrate, optical sensors provided in the areas other than the predetermined areas on the first substrate, and optical transmission lines provided between the first and the second substrates to transmit the light from outside the second substrate to the optical sensors. In this configuration, the light from the outside the second substrate reaches the optical sensors through the optical transmission lines without interrupted by the electrophoresis substance layer. Thus, it is possible to obtain an electrophoresis display which has not only a display function but also a highly efficient light sensing function and can be used in various configurations.
