PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for compressing waste, which apparatus can prevent the breakage of the bag containing the waste, and can prevent the scatter of the waste in the bag when the waste contained in the bag is compressed. SOLUTION: In the apparatus 1 for compressing the waste, specified waste is supplied from a second carrying mechanism after a roll press 6c has been opened. Therefore, the specified waste is introduced in a press chamber P without storing the specified waste in a hopper 5. After that, the specified waste is compressed by closing the roll press 6c.
