A lighting assembly (100,30,40,50) is disclosed. The lighting assembly in cludes a lamp assembly (1,31,41) having a lamp (10) and a transparent ring ( 2) that has at least two smooth surfaces that are inwardly reflective and at least one diffusive surface. The lamp assembly (1,31,41) and the transparen t ring (2) are configured and arranged with respect to one another to deflec t light from the lamp (10) in each of a clockwise and a counterclockwise dir ection in a loop around the transparent ring (2) to achieve a level of total internal reflection. |
