Disclosed is a compound useful as a prophylactic or therapetuic agent for a sex hormone-dependent disease or the like. Specifically disclosed are: a fused heterocyclic derivative represented by the general formula (I); a phar maceutical composition comprising the derivative; use of the pharmaceutical composition for medical purposes; and others. In the formula (I), the ring A represents a 5-membered cyclic unsaturated hydrocarbon or a 5-membered cycl ic heteroaryl; RA represents a halogen, an alkyl, an alkenyl, an alkynyl, a carboxy, an alkoxy, a carbamoyl, an alkylcarbamoyl or the like; the ring B r epresents an aryl or a hateroaryl; RB represents a halogen, an alkyl, a carb oxy, an alkoxy, a carbamoyl, an alkylcarbamoyl or the like; E1 and E2 indepe ndently represent an oxygen atom or the like; U represents a single bond or an lakylene; and X represents a group represented by the formula: Y, -O-(alk ylene)-Y or -O-Z (wherein Y represents Z, an amino substituted by Z or the l ike; and Z represents a cycloalkyl, a heterocycloalkyl, an aryl, a heteroary l or the like) or the like.
