PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retardation film which has a small absolute value of photoelastic coefficient, has negative intrinsic birefringence and is excellent in productivity. SOLUTION: The retardation film includes a copolymer (A) made of a monomer mixture composed of: a monomer (a) constituting a homopolymer in which the photoelastic coefficient is positive and the intrinsic birefringence is negative, in the range of 5 to 85 mass%; a monomer (b) constituting a homopolymer in which the photoelastic coefficient is negative and the intrinsic birefringence is negative, in the range of 5 to 85 mass%; and a 5 to 6 membered ring monomer (c) in the range of 5 to 50 mass%.
