PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To machine a cylinder bore of a cylinder block by a simple-structured tool. SOLUTION: This invention relates to an engine machining method for machining the cylinder bore of the cylinder block. A tool 14 for retaining the cylinder block W at a first attitude in which the cylinder bore Ba of one of cylinder rows takes a prescribed machining attitude, or retaining the cylinder block at a second attitude in which the cylinder bore Bb of the other cylinder row takes the prescribed machining attitude, is made to retain the cylinder block at the first attitude, the cylinder bore of one of the cylinder rows of the cylinder block retained at the first attitude by the tool is machined, the cylinder block is detached from the tool, the cylinder block is retained at the second attitude by the tool, and then, the cylinder bore of the other cylinder row of the cylinder block retained at the second attitude by the tool is machined.
