PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simply-structured disk drive apparatus which has a vertically movable disk tray, and no complicated structure and suppresses rattling of the disk tray. SOLUTION: The disk drive apparatus is provided with a drive unit 5 having a turntable 51, a base chassis 1 which houses the unit 5, a disk loader 4 which is supported vertically movably in the axial direction of the turntable 51 by the chassis 1, and the disk tray 5 supported movably in a direction orthogonal to the axis of the turntable 51 by the loader 4. The loader 4 is provided with a tray drive part 45 which moves the disk tray 6 in the direction orthogonal to th turntable 51. The chassis 1 is provided with a loader vertical movement mechanism which vertically moves the loader 4 and has a fixed guide pin 3b penetrating the disk tray 6 when the loader 4 lowers toward the drive unit 5.
