PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antistatic agent for a thermoplastic resin, which produces little oil smoke and related problems even when heated to a high temperature during kneading the antistatic agent with a resin or during processing a resin composition kneaded with the antistatic agent and can develop excellent antistatic properties, to provide a thermoplastic resin composition using the same, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The antistatic agent is one comprising an alkylamine/ethylene oxide adduct (A), an ester (B) of an alkylamine/ethylene oxide adduct and a monoalkyl fatty acid, an ester (C) of an alkylamine/ethylene oxide adduct and a dialkyl fatty acid, a glycerol/fatty acid ester (D), a polyglcerol/fatty acid ester (E), wherein component (A) accounts for 3-23 wt.% of the agent, component (B) accounts for 18-54 wt.% of the agent, component (C) accounts for 22-46 wt.% of the agent, component (D) accounts for 5-30 wt.% of the agent, and component (E) accounts for 1-15 wt.% of the agent.
