1278792 Electro-photographic apparatus EASTMAN KODAK CO 26 June 1969 [1 July 1968] 32327/69 Heading G2H Colour separation images of an original are formed on separate photo-conductive plates, one for each colour, and a multi-colour colour print obtained by transferring the developed images on to a receiving sheet in registry. Photoconductive plates are moved from stacks 40, 40', 40" by a system of belts having dogs which engage openings 52, 53, 54 in the plates, through charging stations 44, 44', 44", exposure station 48, wherein the plates are sequentially exposed to coloured images of negative 10, developing stations 57, 57', 57" where they are developed by toner of the appropriate colour, transfer station 59 where a roller 61 driven by belt 62 is moved across a receiving sheet 16, clearing stations 75, 75', 75" and finally back to stacks 40, 40', 40". Before and after the "single" stations, i.e., the exposure and transfer stations, holding stations are provided:- hold-to-expose stations 45, 45', 45", escape-to-develop stations 49, 49', 49", hold-fortransfer stations 58, 58', 58" and hold-forcleaning stations 73, 77. After transfer, the receiving sheet is passed through lacquering station 18 and drying station 19 to a cutting mechanism 20. Movement of the plates is controlled by means of the positioning of openings 52, 53, 54 on each set of plates and by a number of micro-switches located along the path of the plates at and between each station and included in a logic circuit, Fig.4 (not shown) which intermittently energizes the appropriate motors driving the belts. In a second embodiment, Fig.6 (not shown), separate exposure and transfer stations are provided for each set of plates and the holding stations are dispensed with. In a third embodiment, Fig.9 (not shown) a single exposure station is used. Exposure may be controlled automatically according to the colour and intensity of the light by known means. |
