A polling method is provided, which includes the following steps: a polling template is produced according to one polling item or more, the polling item is selected from one polling package or more by the user, the polling template records the one polling item or more selected by the user; the one polling item or more recorded in the polling template is parsed; the polling command included in the one polling item or more is forwarded. A polling server is provided, which includes the following parts: polling template producing unit, which records the one polling item or more selected by the user; polling template parsing unit, which is used to parse the polling items in the polling template; polling command forwarding unit, which is used to forward the polling command to the device to be tested, and the polling command is gotten through the parsing of the polling item. The present invention can realize polling for different polling objects at the same time, enhance the polling efficiency and improve the using experience of the user, facilitate the operation of the user.
