<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for more efficiently improving a warm-up property of an exhaust emission treatment catalyst in an internal combustion engine by surely suppressing flow-in of moisture to the exhaust emission treatment catalyst in a state before the exhaust emission treatment catalyst completes warm-up. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control system is provided with a three-way catalyst 15 provided in an exhaust pipe 6 of the internal combustion engine 1 for treating the exhaust emission passing through the exhaust pipe 6 and a water absorbing agent 16 arranged at an upstream side of the three-way catalyst 15 in the exhaust pipe 6 for absorbing moisture in the exhaust emission passing through the exhaust pipe 6. Cooling water passing through water jackets 10a, 10b of the internal combustion engine 1 is introduced into the water absorbing agent 16 by a water absorbing agent cooling line 13 and the water absorbing agent 16 is cooled by using the cooling water. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
