<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic accompaniment apparatus generating accompaniment sound with more appropriate stream according to a chord progression by a user. <P>SOLUTION: When a user operates a keyboard 105 and specifies a chord progression, a CPU 101 refers to chord progression data stored in an RAM 103 to represent the chord progression operated by the user in the past and predicts a chord to be specified by the user next.
