<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a travel state recognition device for a vehicle, capable of reducing discomfort of an occupant, and eliminating trouble, by dispensing with an excessive-operation or unnecessary alarm or the like in a seat belt device or the like configured such that the seat belt device interlocks with an ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems). <P>SOLUTION: This travel state recognition device 11 for the vehicle has: a crossing distance calculation part 11A calculating a distance with a crossing present in front of a traveling position of the vehicle; and an obstacle approach detection part 11B detecting a relative velocity and a distance with an obstacle present in front of the vehicle. The travel state recognition device 11 for the vehicle also comprises: a contact possibility decision part 11C deciding contact possibility between the vehicle and the obstacle when the distance and the relative velocity with the obstacle satisfy prescribed conditions; and a decision condition change part 11F changing the prescribed conditions according to the distance calculated by the crossing distance calculation part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
