PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a driving force step when a driver depresses an accelerator pedal during engine brake operation. SOLUTION: Vehicular deceleration is obtained based on a vehicle speed and the level of vehicular lateral turn, and engine brake torque required for achieving the obtained deceleration is calculated. The absolute value of the calculated engine brake torque is controlled to be set smaller than the engine brake torque upper-limit value, and the larger the level of vehicular lateral turn is set, the more the engine brake torque upper-limit value is reduced.
