DISPLAY CONTROLLER, DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD, AND DISPLAY CONTROL PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display controller by which it is easy for a driver to recognize status of objects present in the surroundings.

SOLUTION: The display controller is constituted by providing: an imaging part which picks up images around a vehicle; an object detection sensor which detects presence/no presence, or distance and directions of surrounding obstacles by irradiating sound wave, radio wave or laser and receiving reflected wave, or processing picked-up image from the imaging part; a detection area decision part which sets the control value of the object detection sensor to vary a detection area according to predetermined conditions; and a display control part which displays the detection area of the object detection sensor determined on the basis of the control value of the detection area decision part by superimposing the detection area on the picked-up image obtained by picking up the images around the vehicle to provide the driver with information about the detection area.
