<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for increasing the degree of filling of a plastic bag when plastic waste articles such as sheets and protective clothes used for the disposal of asbestos etc. are compressed, volume-reduced and sealed into the plastic bag. <P>SOLUTION: A holding implement for compressing an object obtained by folding or winding the sheet comprises an unheated portion, and a portion which is heated at 120°C or higher. After the sheet is compressed by means of both of them, firstly, a compressed state by the heated portion is released, and subsequently, a compressed state by the unheated portion of the pressing implement is released after a lapse of 30 seconds or more. The holding portion is composed of a rod-like, pipe-like or plate-like object, and the unheated and heated portions are alternately arranged.
