PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger capable of removably connecting a refrigerant inlet pipe and a refrigerant outlet pipe. SOLUTION: An evaporator 1 employing the heat exchanger comprises a right end member 24 having a refrigerant inlet 62 and a refrigerant outlet 63, a joint plate 25 having a refrigerant inflow hole 71 and a refrigerant outflow hole 72, and a joint member 30 for removably connecting the refrigerant inlet pipe and the refrigerant outlet pipe. The joint member 30 has a refrigerant inflow passage 86 and a refrigerant outflow passage 87. When observed from the horizontal outer side, the refrigerant inflow passage 86, the refrigerant inflow hole 71 and a refrigerant inlet 62 have a common inflow-side opening, and their centers in the longitudinal direction and the vertical direction are positioned in the inflow-side opening. When observed from the horizontal outer side, the refrigerant outflow passage 87, the refrigerant outflow hole 72 and the refrigerant outlet 63 have a common outflow-side opening, and their centers in the longitudinal direction and the vertical direction are positioned in the outflow-side opening.
