PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a print of a seal in an electronic file from becoming hard to see by preventing a background color from becoming yellowish or an undesired print from being formed at a peripheral edge of data of the print of the seal in the electronic file even in an environment wherein a document created by modifying a printed-out document is repeatedly scanned. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a difference data generating unit 1m which matches the electronic file containing the print of the seal with data on the print of the seal to cut a rectangular area containing the data on the print of the seal out of the electronic file; a data processing unit 1n which removes the background color of an area which is included in the cut rectangular area and where the print of the seal is not present; and a data composing unit 1o which generates another electronic file containing the data on the print of the seal by putting together the data of the rectangular area including the print of the seal from which the background color is removed and data of an electronic file which does not contain the data of the print of the seal so that position coordinates of the data of the print of the seal in the electronic file may match position coordinates in the electronic file containing the print of the seal.
