PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalyst structure which can drastically and stably improve catalyst efficiency. SOLUTION: The photocatalyst structure contains metal nanometer particles 12, a semiconductor photocatalyst 16 and a material 14 which intervenes between the metal nanometer particles 12 and the semiconductor photocatalyst 16 and which is translucent with respect to light of a wavelength for exciting the semiconductor photocatalyst 16.
