PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can perform optimum printing on paper other than kinds of paper applicable to the device. SOLUTION: The sublimation printer (image forming device) 100 has a print head 2 printing paper 40 and including a heating element 2e, a colorimeter 28 measuring the quality of the paper 40 (density and reflection coefficient) and a control section 22a controlling the amount of heat so as to correct the amount of heat applied to the heating element 2e of the print head 2 during printing and to supply to the heating element 2e on the basis of the quality of the paper 40 measured by the colorimeter 28 (density and reflection coefficient).
