<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, capable of printing (image-forming) a PDL job at high speed by acquiring an external resource. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device comprises a PDL spool determination means which determines whether the PDL job is being spooled or not; an external resource reference determination means which determines whether the spooled PDL job refers to an external resource or not; and an acquisition means which acquires the external resource referred to.
