<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive useful for a tin or tin-alloy electroplating solution, with which mutual fixing of articles to be electroplated is reduced; and to provide the tin or tin-alloy electroplating solution using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The additive is obtained from a reaction product of at least one compound selected from hydroxyl group-containing hydrocarbon compounds and glutaraldehyde, and at least one compound selected from amine compounds.
