摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a supercapacitor which exhibits high specific capacitance, even at high-speed charging or discharging by using ultrafine carbon fibers exhibiting a high specific surface area and high electrical conductivity as a substrate, and by electrochemically depositing a metal oxide thin film on the substrate. SOLUTION: The electrode for the supercapacitor includes a collector, a carbon substrate which is formed on the collector and includes the ultrafine carbon fibers exhibiting a specific surface area of at least 200 m<SP>2</SP>/g (BET) and d<SB>002</SB>of 0.36 nm or smaller, and a metal oxide thin film which is formed on the carbon substrate.
