PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent for a metal surface which is excellent in a washing effect, and can improve the workability of washing, and a washing method using the same. SOLUTION: The detergent for the metal surface is an aqueous solution containing a chelate agent and a corrosive ion. Preferably, the content of the chelate agent is 1 to 30 mass% and the content of the corrosive ion is 0.01 to 10 mass%. In the washing method using the detergent, a reducing agent is acted on the surface of metal, and then washing is performed by acting the detergent thereon. In this case, even if a hydrophilic film is formed on the surface of the metal, the hydrophilic film is not dissolved and stays put without being peeled. The pH of the waste washing solution after the washing by the detergent is in a neutral region of 5 to 9 and the neutralization treatment can be omitted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
