PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen printing device which cleans a mask in a timely manner. SOLUTION: This screen printing device prints a solder paste to a substrate 2 through pattern perforations arranged in the mask 3 for masking the substrate 2. In addition, a laser measuring instrument 32 which measures a deflection level (a) generated in the mask 3 during its parting by emitting a laser beam vertically downward to the surface of the mask 3, is provided at this device. In case the deflection level (a) of the mask 3 exceeds a preset threshold value, the device executes a mask cleaning operation, judging that the contamination of the mask 3 is beyond the tolerable extent.
