PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which is employed for cleaning soil contaminated with cyanide based materials such as cyanide compounds by using aerobic or anaerobic microorganisms and enables the efficient cleaning of even cyanide contaminated soil at an excellent contamination cleaning rate. SOLUTION: In the cleaning method cleaning the cyanide contaminated soil with the microorganism for simultaneously performing the dehydration of moisture in the contaminated soil and cleaning with the microorganisms by placing the slurred contaminated soil containing moisture in the state of housing it together with nutritive compositions for cleaning microorganisms against contamination sources in a water permeable container bag 3 in predetermined spaces 4, pH of the slurry housed in the container bag 3 is adjusted so as to be in a range of 5.0-7.0.
