Reclosable gusseted packages or bags have resistance to leaking or spilling through the gussets (106, 108) by sealing the gussets together through apertures (120, 122) in the gusset walls (106a, 106b), by sealing the zipper flanges (210, 212) together through apertures passing through the gussets in the package or bag, or by sewing the gussets shut in areas proximate to the zipper.
