摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of avoiding a state of an insufficient amount of a liquid refrigerant in an evaporator causing the suction pressure of a compressor to remarkably be lowered at start of a heating operation and quickly starting the heating operation. <P>SOLUTION: In a refrigerating cycle formed by sequentially connecting a compressor, a condenser, a decompression means, the evaporator, and an accumulator, a control means 24 determines that there is no liquid refrigerant in the evaporator 12 when pressure Ps detected by a pressure detecting means 22 is lower than pressure P2, and pressure Pm detected by a pressure detecting means 23 is lower than pressure P3 at a start of a heating operation, closes an electromagnetic valve 9 and the decompression means 11 to thereby isolate piping therebetween (isolated region). Further, the control means 24 temporarily stops the compressor 5, and thereafter, when the pressure Ps detected by the pressure detection means 22 is higher than the pressure Pm detected by the pressure detecting means 23 opens the electromagnetic valve 14. The liquid refrigerant thereby moves to the isolated region upstream of the evaporator from the accumulator 13.
