<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bumper stay structure which reduces impact against a colliding object by preventing a bumper stay from acting as a rigid body in a light collision. <P>SOLUTION: The bumper stay 2 is disposed between the front end surfaces of left and right side-members 1, 1 and the rear end surface of a bumper armature 3 on a vehicle body. The bumper stay 2 is divided into two parts by a fixed member 21 connected to the side member 1 side and a movable member 22 connected to the bumper armature 3 side in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. The end surfaces of the connection parts of the fixed member 21 and the movable member 22 are formed in tilted end surfaces 21a, 22a tilted a predetermined angle relative to the surface perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. The bumper stay structure comprises: a connection member 5 connecting the fixed member 21 to the movable member 22; and a connection releasing means 6 for releasing the connection of the fixed member 21 to the movable member 22 at the light collision. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
