PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it is required to frequency adjust luminance since a cold-cathode tube which illuminates a liquid crystal display panel is dark immediately after turned on and gradually becomes brighter. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with: a liquid crystal display panel 9; a cold-cathode tube 7 as a light emitting part which irradiates light from the rear surface of the liquid crystal display panel 9; a driving current supply part 6 which supplies driving current to the cold-cathode tube 7; a control part 1 which controls the driving current supplied by the driving current supply part 6; a memory 4 as a storage part which stores a driving current data sequence corresponding to the driving current controlled by the control part 1, wherein the control part 1 controls the driving current supplied to the cold-cathode tube 7 by the driving current supply part 6 in accordance with time elapsed after turning on the cold-cathode tube 7 based on the driving current data sequence of the memory 4.
