PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer printing apparatus that can transfer a pattern with high accuracy and no collapse of the pattern even when the pattern is to be formed by transferring onto a print object such as a film and glass having no absorption of ink, and to provide a transfer printing method. SOLUTION: A process of applying a transfer pressure by pressurizing with a roller in a conventional way is replaced by a process of a linear slit nozzle blowing air which is moved on the back face of a film plate like a roller rolling and moving, and ink is transferred by the air pressure.
